I'm looking at a 2003 Pulse 185BR that is rated for 175hp. The dealer has a 99 225 promax that they can't rig to the boat, but would sell to me separately and I could put it on. I don't think the 175 will meet my need for speed. I would like to know if anyone has done this? What is the max speed anyone has seen out of this boat and what are the ramifications of rigging over the Coast Guard rating? Also could it be driven to its potential?
Thanks!
Jim

I think the biggest problem you will have is insurance. The other would be is if you get pulled for a on water inspection.
I have seen the inside supports and transom on those boats. I don't think the 225 will hurt it.
