I went to the ODBA races in Stockton Ala. this past weekend as a spectator and had a very good time. The racing was, as all ODBA events, well run and well organized. The competetion was intense as usual. It was great to see some people I hadn't seen in years. Talked with Louis Collins quite a bit as we go back well over 20 years and I must admit our age is showing some(lots of gray in the hair and beard). I was fortunate to see several people running some of the products we supply. Congratulations to the winners and competetors that ran some of our equipment. Congrats on a great job for Chris Ray and Mike Sance finishing 1-2 in the Pro 120 or whatever they call that class now. Ol' T-Rex is gettin' closer ! They both made consistent runs and the final with Mike and Chris was very close. Especially when Chris's cowling popped loose and stood up like a drag chute!! Just want to say thanks to the ODBA for a good show and thanks to all the customers and friends we got to see.

It was a great race for racer and spectator alike. I am glad to hear that Eagle One HIMSELF had as good a time as I did.

For those who didn't get to go, the winners wound up:

Bruce Tripp showed the Carb field how it is done.

Jay Smith took the honors in a very close Super Stock class.

Mickey Platt was unbeaten in Pro Gas.

Marty Logan's checkered flag was flown high again in Unlimited.

Richard Hammondtree won a very tight Modified Production class.

Robbie Lamkin passed Shane Stovall in Lakeracer.

Chris Ray had T-rex (Mike Sance) close on his heels in SuperSport.

And Mathew Caldwell was untouchable in Pro Fuel - even with my boat literally FLYING trying to chase him down.

The ODBA website will be updated later this week. byuboyz will have pictures and video soon.

Wayne, I was told the Jay Smith at the races was from South Fla. as I understood it. No relation to the Jay Smith that builds the engines in Texas. He is likely like me, to old and fat to race. Never saw the guy but he did run well. You guys did a fine job. Caldwell was definitely trucking. as was just about every boat there.

Way to go Jay...

I guess you made the switch to Super Stock pretty comfortably. See you out on the lake soon for the next testing period.
