View Full Version : How do I get all the water out of the bilge area?

I finally went out with a flashlight and looked inside the tiny hole in my floor at the back of the boat down into the bilge. After pulling out the garbage that had collected in the hole, I could see that there is about 1/4" of water that does not come out through the hole in the back, and I could see that the water is pretty dirty. Should I worry about all that water that stays in there? Even if I found a way to get it out I would have the same problem every time I use the boat.

It has been my experience in almost all boats that there is a little water that wont come out the plug hole and is also left behind by a bilge pump. I wouldn't really worry about it. In my experience it hasn't hurt a thing.

Seems to be the way most boats are. If I don't get out in mine for a week in the summer it all seems to evaporate. Otherwise, there is always a very small amount left. My boat is 16 years old and it doesn't seem to have hurt it yet.

design 'em that way to leave a little water for the fish you may have sucked up during the day.;) :D
