JAY...I talked to Ray a couple times on a couple different things & he certainly was a straight no BS guy...I also found out just how small the world is when he told me Dean Hazzard did tech work with/for him...I bought my 1st Velocity 22' from Tom Pierson at Performance Marine in Webster way back in '85 & Dean was "THE MAN" when it came to MERCS/MARINERS at Perf. Marine...Hi Dean!!!...BTW Jay....We have the same 1st name... :D...

ray was a hell of a super nice guy. a couple weeks ago something told me i should calll him and see how he was doing. he told me he had be feeling kinda bad lately and had been short of breath.ray was a great guy, we used to talk on the phone for what seemed like hours. even though he was older than i we jus always hit it off and enjoyed chatting about our families, boat racing, motorcycle stuff, hot rod trucks and just life in general. i guess i new ray for about 10 yrs. or so and will miss him dearly. my condolences to the hansen family, ray rest in peace brother. rl

I just recently found out myself, and I was going to post about it.
Losing a member of our community just makes me feel really empty inside... It gives me a defenseless feeling... An empty feeling. Knowing there is nothing that could be done to bring him back just makes the loss that much worse.
Rest In Peace Ray... From all of us.

Whoa! I'm in shock. That really hits home. Great great member of our sport. I feel the loss. Rest in peace Ray. Is there a photo of Ray floating around? I talked to him many times but never got to meet him in person.

Thats real sad to hear. Ray Hanson was a great guy. I bought a few boats from him, and every time I went up to see him, I ended up spending half the day with him. Always a positive experience with Ray.
My condolences to all family and friends of Ray.

Godspeed Ray. You will most likely be Dale's crew chief in the big race series.

so sad to hear. I only knew him for about 5 years, in that time we traded alot of information, testing results, and bought/sold stuff. He was one of the few i could trade with confidence. My thoughts and prayers go out to his family.
