Who's going to the Romp, who's camping in the 200 area of the Northampton Beach Campground?

It looks like I have no one coming with me, Helmut can't go now, so I'm considering 1. backing out, cancelling my reservation and trying to get some of my money back, 2. passing my site on to someone who wants it, 3. sharing my site with someone.......?????

I haven't seen alot of activity posted about this gathering so I'm wondering if anyone is going to even be camping near me. I really don't want to camp alone. My wife has to work and it's too late to get any friends to come, so guys let me know what you think before I cancel my site.

OK, I think I'm cancelling. It seems, no one is going, not even those who were supposed to go WITH me.

Hey Geoo , I don't think you'll have much trouble hanging with the outboards , especially in the rough stuff . That's one fast Donzi ! Are you going to be at the CT River Run Oct 18 ?

I will most definitely be there. Rain or shine. I am not camping at the grounds. Staying in a hotel. I should be up there early Sat. a.m. and am staying until Mon. I'm bringing a pal from CT. We call him the "Velociraptor". Dennis has been to the CT River run. We are all booked and can't wait to get there. What a Great Lake!!!
Hope you don't back out, Mike. Boating might be more fun for you without the itch- er poison ivy. Carl

Rich,
I'm looking foward to the CT River Run in October.
I have next Saturday free and was going to make a day trip to the Romp, but not sure how many boat's are going. I'll be up at Lake George Sept. 5th & 6th.

But the weather will be sweet and we are bound to have a fantastic time guaranteed.

Day trippers or anyone else not staying at the campsites or the Flipp Inn should meet at Miller's Grandview Marina. 342 Lakeside Drive in Mayfield , NY. Look for the big blue arrow oin the left side of the road.

If you are coming from the west. Take thruway exit 28 in Fultonville and get on 30 A. 30A will turn into 30 when you enter Mayfield. Take a right at the Stewart's shop onto School Street. Go down a couple of miles to Lakeside drive and take a left. Be careful cause the hump makes the turn blind.

From the east take exit 27 in Amsterdam and take 30 all the way up. Route 30 does take a few turns so pay attention. Once you pass through Amsterdam you'll cross route 29 and then have to make a left turn into Broadalbin to stay on 30. After the left turn you'll travel a few more miles and need to take a right onto School Street. Just before School Street there is a Citgo station on the left and I think there is a sign that says Mayfield business district. About 2 miles down you'll take a right onto Lakeside Drive.

It seems some get confused around Albany when coming from the east. Don't head North; stay heading west on the Thruway toward Buffalo. If you get off the Thruway (pay toll) in Albany than you have goofed.

The plan is Sand Island on Staurday morning. We are going to occupy a spot early but guys rolling in Saturday will be met by yours truly whenever you like at the Marina so I can escort you to the island. We stand ijn the water and talk about boats all day. Brings coolers or whatever. The island is sandy but it's nice to be able to throw an anchor and secure the stern so we don't have to fight with the boats all day. I will have enough burgers and dogs for everyone to get some lunch. Saturday evening we'll eat at the Sport Island pub and partake in some night boating. The weather is looking great. Dam run (~50 mile trip) will take place Sunday around 10 am. There is gas some or part of the way there but it is much better to be prepared before heading out.

Please let me know when you are coming and where you are staying.

All I know is Phastboat (Activator), Mr. Clean, Gary Saperstein (STV) with his bud with a Pachanga and some locals up here (Velocity AMoff). What type of props are you looking for and what are you currently running?

Where are you staying? You can leave your boat at the marina if you like.

Thanks, I have two prop which I'm working with; a four blade Rolla 14 x 25 and a Mercury Outboard four blade cleaver 15 x 30. The Rolla is being twisted to add some pitch and the Merc was made into a 14.5 x 28.

I have lots of props in the 26 range including 4 blades. So does my Brother and Phastboat. I used to have some Hydromotives but they are gone.

She ain't pretty, it's quaint and most likely clean, but you aren't going to have to kick crack whores or junkies out. If you don't like it I can set you up in Johnstown at the Holiday in or Super 8. You could leave the boat at the marina.

Come to the marina first on Staurday if you can. We will be on the southern end of the lake and it will make the logistics easier.
