As some of you know I just got a new boat...a '72 Glastron, model still hasn't been determined. The owner said he just put a new windshield on it, tinted. I was just wondering...can anybody tell me about how much that would cost? (on the boat pictured below)

Don't they get around $400
For one on a Viper, they look alot alike..

If you want to make it yourself. I just made mine for my Vector out of Lexan and bought a 2'x8' sheet for $60 and just curved it around the frame. The stuff bends easily and won't break or crack. You can also drill holes in it if you need to. I'll post a pic this afternoon when I get home to show you what it looks like.

If you can do it for $60, you should go into business for yourself... The Hydrostream folks are pretty proud of theirs.. ($299 + shipping). Depending on how long it takes you, you could make some decent money..

That is the cost of the material not including the HOURS it took to make it. :D

Yea, I figured it was probably a bit of work... Apparently, it's hard for Hydrostream too -- I can't get one from them....

It is made out of 1/8" Lexan. I made the bottom frame out of an aluminum tube then painted both frames black metalic then clear coated them. I drilled holes along the top and the bottom of the winshield and then tapped 10-32 holes in the frames and srewed the windshied to them with stainless steel allen bolts and fender washers.

I screwed the bottom frame to the boat and then attached the windshield to it.

I like the way you did this ... what kind of aluminum tube did you use and where did you get the lexan?

- Little darker lexan
- Lower the height a few inches
- Angle it back further
- Run 2 more pieces with a vertical brace so it's a complete wrap around

Question :

How do you bend an aluminum tube without breaking/creasing it?

Thanks
