1987 BP EFI O/S ?

I just bought a eliminator scorpion with this engine. Love the boat but no experience with the high performance mercs. The engine seems fine, but is their anything I should be aware of on this engine. Anybody have any info on a good setup for this boat/engine package. It runs 87 mph at 6800rpm with a 27 srx or 28 chopper reworked by Ron Hill. Engine sits on factory setback of about 10 inches with no jack plate. Prop shaft is even with bottom of boat. Any info would be appreciated.

That motor makes its maximum power at 7500, you will get better performance by propping it down or messing with the setup so it will turn 7500. Use systhetic race oil at 32 to 1
