Be careful in dealing with a well known marine dealer in Northern Illinois. I dealt with one of the brothers of this well know company in June over a small dollar part (they sent the wrong one and I sent it back) and he isn't responding. I have been asking for the part or my money back since June 2, 2003 with occasional response but no action.
The dollar amount was small but the reputation attached to the name is big so I am concerned that others who deal with this individual based on that may get ripped off in a bigger deal. Since Greg has been clear that he doesn't want dirty laundry aired here you can PM me and I will give you the name of the individual.
I also don't want to drag the name of the business through the mud because my dealing was with one of the brothers and for all I know the other would make good if I could contact him. The businessesr website has been down for awhile and I have no way other way of contacting them and frankly the dollar amount isn't worth the hassle. I can't believe this person has let it come to this over a $40 part. If he'll do it on a $40 dollar part I would hate to see someone get stuck for a motor or worse. :(
