13' Ally/650XS Merc............ It lives

I've been piddlin' with this thing for months and finally decided to stick a battery to it and see if it fires. Dang thing fired right up and it sounds awsome. (course they all do on the hose)

Now I've got the fever bad. Gotta have tank, pulleys, more riggin', etc. The UPS boxes will start rollin' next week.

as a kid by the 90 hp @ 9000 rpm rating of the 650XS. What do you think it'll do on that Ally?

I dunno, if it'll just outrun all the SeaDoos around here it'll make me happy.

Course I did smoke a big V Bottom sterndrive with my SeaDoo yesterday. I don't know what it was, about 23' or so, but it came out from under the bridge all trimmed up and rooster tailin' and I couldn't help tryin'. It kinda suprised me when I caught and passed it. I just don't want the same treatment when I'm ridin' in the little Ally.

I know you're a Merc man as am I,but I bet that thing would be faster with a Hi Po jonrude on it. I fought that battle in my youth with a 3 cyl merc & couldn't even keep up with those OMCs
When it comes to 70-140 hp give me a OMC, when it comes to a V6, give me a Merc

You're right on the 3 cyl OMC's Wharf. When I used to go to the races regularly I'd always go to the concession stand when the 3 cyl classes hit the water. It was just too gruesome to watch. If there were 5 Mercs in a 15 boat class the first Merc would be 11th. Fortunately, I ain't run across a 3 cyl stinger on this lake in about 15 years, so maybe it'll be safe.
