I just ran a bone stock '96 2.5L EFI on the project laser/EFI virage for the first time today and noticed that it runs both banks (on Gaffrig dual pyrometer) at 1200 after 5000rpms at WOT. I didn't wait long enough to see if it would subside but it didn't look like it was. Is this normal? I felt comfortable with 1100-1150 on the project laser engine and am not sure why it should be different for this engine. Fuel pressure does not drop off at WOT and the midrange is cool (=/< 900-degrees). I'm considering dropping the timing a degree or two to be on the safe side and am wondering what you all run out there. This is a non-race boat and is used for long range cruizing so I'd like to be sure of where I run at.
Thanks in advance,
