What cubic inch is it?

My son in law just bought a damn near new 1985 Sanger 18' S-5 shallow V hull with a 1985 Merc 150. I did not get the serial number but does anyone know what cube the motor is for this year. It is a carb motor. Also, how do you undo the rev limiter on this motor?

My guess would be a 2.0L which is 122ci. Thats what my 1993 is anyway

Yep, the 1985 150's are 2.0 liter, 122 CI. The 1985 175's and 200's are 2.4 liter 142 CI.

It should be a 2.0 L. The rev limiters are in the switch boxes (pn 332-7778) are about somewhere in the neighborhood of 8k. if you plan on turning more than that then you need to go to the racing switchboxes by either CDI or merc. Curious why you asked? Are you hitting a limiter? Hope this helps.
