This one had high pressure direct into the cylinder after exhuast port closing fuel injection (like Opitmax or Fitch) ... in 1959

You got any more pictures of that from a different angle? I assume by "Twister" they're referring to a nickname, because the Merc Twister series didn't come along until 1970.
Super neat picture. I've never seen an inline with mechanical injection.

It's Gary Ferguson's Twister II with a pair of Chrylsers, you have seen pictures of the back of this rig before.......it uses a pair of McCulloch racing lower units and full open exhuast with no stacks
I'm trying to dig up the other picture, but can't find it anywhere.

Sam, to show you how stoooopid I am, I thought they were inline 6's. I was wonderin' why they moved the distributor to the wrong side.
