Merc-Killer !! Progress report !!

Well another weekend at the lake !! All goes real well.

Borrowed a friends 34" Lab cleaver for the weekend. Nice prop but I would rather spin a smaller prop faster (need gears) With my super light compression heads (???:eek: ) she turned a best of 123 GPS.

Drag set-up : 24" Yamma-Drag ........... what a launch !! Turns up real good (????????) well into the 9000 rpm range in less than 1000' :eek:

Don't you worry "I tell you what" . I don't think its that bad for runnin heads that only give me 118-120 lbs of compression.!!.
Now its time to start boltinn on the parts.
Oh ya and EGT readings of 1000 at 9300rpm !!

Well jeff all is not as bad as first seemed pulled lower unit seems a seal let go water will not lub as good as oil. Looking for a good gear case any help appr. Your boat sounds great good luck.

123 is movin .I went 123 with a 32 cleaver and a full tank of gas on the first try and had her running real flat .I think next time I'll try airing it out a bit and throwing a splash of petro in her and see what happens maybe 125.

Ya I was runnin 28 gal of fuel aswell. Runs real flat , but don't like running that big of a prop though. Still have to try a 32" Lab and see what it's like with another 30 lbs of comp.

Ken , my ModVP is not bad in the slowing down department. Not sure why though, been in my bud's STV RR at 120 and it was kinda spooky. Maybe when you are in charge you don't notice how spooky it realy is !!

mine PS is at 7/8 above to
