I need some details. I have the same boat for my son.

How did it run, I mean drive. straight, easy to drive, pain in the ass, did it do alot of weird stuff.

I've been debating on power. Mine has the transom cut down, so I want to use a 15" mid. I have a 15" inline mid that could use a inline 4 or 6, so I could start with a 50 and go upto a 150.

The problem with a V4 (which is what I wanted) is if I spend the money on a short mid the smallest I could go would be a 90, And that's a little too much for a kid I think. I thought maybe a 90 with no trim and a small prop, and even back out the set screw on the hot foot to cut off a few hundred rpm's ???

How fast did It run with a 140, and was it stock ?

thanks for your time, any input would be appreciated.

transom on that 1 was goofy 2 - i think thats the way it came - we built it up 4 "s - put in duel ride guide steering - l&s solid mounts & nose cone - it drives staight as an arrow - been through the radar at 70 in 1000 ft & its stock exept for reeds & .020 o/s pistons - boat would handle i-6 - talked ta guy's who made them at G-W & back in the day they they put on a 150 i6 and did 76 mph - i would like ta see a 175 faststrike on it  :D

my buddy jeff at DAH bought it from my dad - he's turning a customized 27 omc race cleaver at 6400 + / just a super fun boat to drive - having trouble getting pic's to load

cool, thanks.

I couldn't tell on the transom. the one I got was cut straight across with a skillsaw. I could see where the factory had the curves in it to turn upward, but since it was cut there was no way to know how high it went up. Anyway, if I go straight across, making astraight line across the back of the boat it works out perfect for a 15" transom.

175 fast strike. I agree with the

In fact, I'll see your  and raise you an  :)

BTW, If you type in "GW Invader" on the internet search, I found another one, yellow as well. with a 115 fast strike that went somewhere in the 70's. The guy had a little story on it and had it for sell. It now say's SOLD on it , but the webpage is still there, with the pictures.

K-man, is that motor bolted on the transom or does it have a jackplate ? It's hard to tell from the picture.
