I know a OMC mechanic that is looking for another mechanic. He owns his own biz that is based out of a local small scale marina that is owned by Alen Garbachet, if interested I can get you in touch with the guy that signs the checks. it is also the same marina that we keep three of our boats.

Not this one.

I worked with a guy who did that, so he said. Unless he was BSing me he was telling me about all the physical therapy to keep his body in shape for the job.

Then agian I've busted my body up pretty good turning wrenches on industrial machinery and you don't have to worry about Lyme disease infested deer ticks driving boats.

Djyox, they are always looking for roughnecks and rousta-bouts offshore but your gonna be working your butt off.

I got the tick when I was in N.C.
I can tell Lyme disease sucks!!!!
Gonna have to have my A C joint operated on because of it.

The other bitting bugs ain't too bad. Ever since the West Nile Virus outbreak they've been spraying alot more.

Where do I sign for such a job? As far as experience I have been driving boats as long as I can remember, from 10' to 45'.
I'd be real interested and would certainly like to get more info if possible. Thanks Alot. Jeff Fowler

Dj, I'm not sure where you are planning on moving but Travis Boating Center in Clearwater is looking for mechanics/ riggers. They have a pretty good pay scale, full benefits, retirement, 401 K, and paid holidays. If your interested I can get you thier phone num.

All this talk of moving to Florida makes me wonder, does this marina shop have air conditioning? The South is hot and the Gulf side of Florida is steamy hot. I'm ready to melt up here; I don't think I'd like it down there. My wife was in Tarpon Springs when she was very young. She remembers it as a nice little quaint "sponge catching" village. There were also lots of little open air shops selling orange blossom smelling things and other stuff. Is Tarpon Springs still a nice little place?

Hey Sherlock what kind of pay check is included with that package. I'd love to run the crap out of a boat all day and get paid for it. Would you mind shooting some info to [email protected] ?

I have the desire and want to do stuff like that but the Lyme has done a number on my shoulder and knee joints.
My shoulders are so bad I had to get hydraulic steering for my Allison.

Most of the endurance boats at Lake X have hydrolic steering.

If the old man Sherlock can do it, anyone can!:D

Hey Sherlock, can you do that gig part time?? Like night shift or weekends or something?? I'd ditch working at the Auto Zone in town in a heart beat (after giving notice anyway) but I don't know if driving a boat all day would keep me financially stable as working for the Pipeline. I'm serious if you are :D

I've been looking for an excuse to move to Fla. I'm the guy who cleaned the floor with my jaw dragging. We toured last summer with Kirk. Fine piece of real estate!!
I'd like to be the one applying the "Dialed in at Lake X" stickers!! We should all be lucky enough to get paid to do what we love..........

Pardon my ignorance, TTriton, but are you related to the McCune who used to race? I cannot for the life of me remember his first name now.
