Key West Drag race????...Show ov handz!!

Been back and fout wit Tonee Starion, Tha President ov AOF, about tha incorperation ov sum BYUBOYZ drag race'in, in wit tha APBA world final offshore races in Key West, in tha second week ov november!!!...Tonee iz work'in on tha purse part az we speek...I thank November would be a great time ta make a lil trip to southern Flarida...(well, ok, a long trip)....................................
I reely don't know all tha detailz, cuz it ain't nutt'in cut in stone, but after tha success tha AOF/BYUBOYZ event had in Lake Bulow, I juss figgered if'in ya throwed in sum Offshore botes wit kneeldownz, and Drag botes, it would have ta be totally kewl!!!!!!........I know this iz a long pull fer most, but theyz a lot ov guyz tha live in southern Fla.....So, how many ov U guyz would be interested???........

Now I reelize when I mention tha name APBA, sum ov U guyz kringe, az I do, but this will be one ov tha drawbacks for this event, or should I say, wheather it happenz or not....Nun Of tha Drag guyz will have to join APBA to participate in this event!!!...I don't know how this will work yet, but that will be my only reason to not make tha show...I will NOT join APBA for any reason!!!...Joining APBA for sum iz not an issue for sum, and sum belong to APBA, and thats kewl, if thatz what U like...My point iz that I would luv to be a part ov tha APBA Offshore Race'in, but ain't gunna feed tha Political and non boating side ov APBA....

If this lil issue panz out, How many ov U guyz would think ov make'in a show and race'in in Key West in November???.....Need an idea, to see if'll it iz worth tha trouble Tonee iz going thru...T-REX :cool:

APBA offshore LLC (a separate company from APBA) is putting that race on with AOF from what I understand. I've been hearing there will be many other outboard classes too.

Not sure if you know this, but APBA and APBA-LLC are kind of split apart right now. There are some law suits that may change that shortly, but as of right now the President of APBA is Steve Hearn and the CEO of APBA offshore LLC is Mike Allweiss.

But the APBA-LLC says they are buying their own insurance and don't have to use APBA's. Maybe that's why you wont have to join APBA.

Thankz Val for that update on APBA...I didn't meen ta kick off no splatter'in ov ABPA, U no how I feel about them...But, from tha lookz ov whatz happen'in in APBA, I ain't tha only one!!...I juss hope we kan have a congloberation ov diffrent types ov botes at this event...I think all diffrent classes running at diffrent times during a hole week ov BOAT RACEING , juss would be too kewl!!!....
HotShot Merc, Tha insurance would be handled thru AOF...That iz tha way we do it on the Memorial day event that BYB/AOF do!!...Most ov tha entry fee iz for insurance...tha rest being for safety crews and Ambulance...Tha entry fee at tha memorial day race wuz $75, and U could run az many classes U wuz legal to run....................

Ray, If we do this, tha king ov tha lake class(what it wuz called at Bulow) iz a unlimited, run what ya brung class...Hell, if U tha only one wit a bottle, I'll put tha lil2.0 on tha noo noo, juss ta sho ya what a Chizler will do on tha juice;)

Jimmy, I kan't take any credit for make'in this happen...It's TONY STARION, Prez of tha AOF...He iz tha man behind tha scenes...Our lil venture in Bulow haz reely dun good(doubled from last yeer), So we juss figgered that adding Drag botes to tha world final Offshore would be great, and then southern Fla in November, Most northern guyz would be ready ta make a trip to warmer places!!!...It's 20 hours for me, but I never been to Key West so letz try it....If I git tared on tha way, I'm sure Monty would sleep in tha shop so me an Loulla Belle could git sum rest
