What a great weekend this past 4th of July was in Northern Wisconsin. I trailered my 25 Warlock cat with twin 2.5s up to Minocqua to visit my Brother-in-Law who also has a 23 Daytona with twin 2.5's. We were trolling for boats to pick on all weekend. What a wild sight to see two cats and fours screaming race O/B's howling side by side. Every guy with a big block thought they had a chance. Baja's, Daytona's and even some nut in a Cobalt. One time we lined up 5 boats at the Hwy 51 bridge. What are they thinking? Our cats can run almost 100 mph and they want a piece of us with their 454 V- bottoms.
One time we were anchored at the beach and this great looking 24' Baja with a serious rumble (you could hear the blower) came right up to our boats and his wife started waving to us. I thought they could not actually want to race? They idled for 5 minutes back and forth waiting for us to decide if we should bother with another Baja. We took the bait and the race was on. After about 75-80 mph he was all done and we were well in front. Those blowers have real mid range punch so he must have thought he had a chance for the first 200 yards. After that it was bye-bye. Later while we talked with owners of the Baja they told us it was a 502 with a Pro-Charger. He thought our cat was too heavy to go very fast with those little tiny eggbeaters. Another lesson in outboards was given that day. ;)

I would have thought they would do 100 +
it's always cool to spank big money inboards...:)

We are running 26" and 28" props for cruising. We both just like to haul the family and friends. The smaller props give you a lot more punch on the lakes anyway. I find getting ahead of other boats right away is better than needing the whole lake to top end. I wish we had a video camera of the bowrider Cobalt (spelling?) pulling up next to us at about 60 mph. He was airing that thing out. He was grinning from ear to ear thinking he was giving us a run. We waved and punched it. Good-Bye.

Way to represent Brad. I had a great weekend too. I love my family's house in S. Jersey, I'm one of the few boats down there that even goes over 70, nevermind 90. I had a couple V bottoms turn around on me while I was cruising at 45 and I played with them making it look like 60 was all I had, then I put the hammer down.
I also gave my buddy with his new 25 Eliminator Daytona a lesson in outboard versus inboard. Hopefully he won't make me look bad later when he gets the supercharger for his 500 EFI.
Is it me or is that Eliminator missing some character lines somewhere around the back of that boat?

sometimes i try to race boats that i know are gonna whip my butt just to see em run .. i am realistic about my boats speed and know i am not very fast.. but sometimes i like to hear a skater with a pair of 2.5s scream past at 8000 rpm while hosing me down ..

I WENT UP TO CASTLE ROCK FOR THE 4TH, AND BASICLY DID THE SAME THING WITH THE MOTION. SOME 38 FT CIGARETTE TRIED TO RUMN WITH ME, AND I CRUSHED HIM. HE SAID HE RUNS ABOUT 78 ON GPS, SO I HAD HIM COVERED PRETTY WELL. ALSO RAN A 25 DAYTONA WITH A 525 SC. HE WAS ALONE AND I HAD FIVE PEOPLE IN THE BOAT, BUT SAME RESULT. WICKED WEATHER AND SOME GREAT SCENERY. LATER, DAVE

20 FOOT CIGARETTE W/650 HP. OUTRUN BRADS WARLOCK? HIGHLY DOUBTFUL, BUT YOU NEVER KNOW. MAYBE MORE THAN TOABBACO IN IN THE CIGARETTE? JUST STIRRIN THE POT. LATER, DAVE
That's a pretty cool comment. I feel the same way; hell, I've run with Procomp from this board when he had his Procomp. I was in my HST. Same idea though, he walks past me by I don't know how many mile an hour but it was friggin cool to see.......and hear.

I still have the 35' Motion with 2000 hp. But I also have this Warlock as my cruising boat. For pure fun the O/B's are the way to go. The big boat sounds and looks so fast no one will race me. It must be when the hear the idle lope 400-2000-400-2000rpm. The sound is unreal. When I had the triple O/B boat everyone with a B/B thought those little O/B's would make a good lunch for them. Only boat that ever passed me was a 40 Skater with 4000 hp!!!
The 24' Baja we raced probably was 650hp+. His boat had a serious lope at idle. His 502 is 500hp without the blower. So I really doubt a 20' Cig with 680 hp will take the Warlock. You need a fast hull and big hp to go 100.
I am seriously thinking of getting rid of the big boy and getting a really wild O/B boat. It is in the planning stage now. It could be very fast.

JUST LIKE THAT THUNDERDUCK..:D :D
Guy brings a new 4Winns (LOLOL!) out to the lake last weekend that sounds funny. I zero in on him with my spotting scope, and believe it or not the dude's got a new 4Winns with through transom exhaust! Couldn't tell by the sound whether it was a big or little block. Didn't know 4Winns even knew what through transom exhaust was. Guy proceeds to go up and down the lake several times wide open, big ole' rooster tail.
I couldn't let him be king of the lake for too long, so out goes the Pulsare. We did the usual dance together, and then we get it going. I let him run with me until I see he's aired all the way out and his rooster is flying, and then I trimmed my motor a little (a lot) past too high and walk away from him with a MONSTER rooster. Didn't care about top speed, I didn't need it. Was more fun showing him the tail of an outboard with LOTS of water flying!

Baja Outlaws & Hammers. Yeah I know its a cheap and easy target for a Skater 24, but it seems those people who buy em think that they're the King! Its fun to sandbag then cruise by with offshores singin' in stereo, one hand on the wheel, an elbow hangin' over the side, and casually wave... THEN MASH-IT!!!!!!!!!

Now in the summer hollydays there is almost a chain of boats from oslo down to south of Norway about 300km with coast and scerries and ilands.
If I had the boat ready I would be out there cruising in 70mph passing those 4 to 9 mph boats:D The Kids in those slow roll and puke boats waves like mad . They show shining smiles and maybe the captn will trow us a fist or yell because its no fun beeing passed by a rocket . I always try to wave and smile to them to try to not make them to upset.
I remember one of those 28 fots cruisers almost on plane because of the bad wether... then me the prick comes behind juping of his waves and screams by in 60 mph.....what a great feeling
to play the video : right click on mouse ,choose:save the target as : Desk top maybe then its easy to find it again. let it download and click on it at the desk top to see.
brads 30' motion with 3 280's was the best v bottom masher yet. other than his 35 motion with 2000 hp. made it look like childs play. Jay.

Lilabner you got a good point there, but this tread is like looking at our own belly,I dont know if you know what I mean because its just translated from Norwagian saying....
I bet you have some good stories to share with us !
The worst pre judge relationship in boating is between sailers and powerboats i think.
I was lucky and got on a sail boat at the Ferder sail regatta out the Oslo fjord this year ,1000 sailboats at once ! its been going on for 50 years! 1000 sailboats and there is a system that makes it possible for all types of sailboats to participate. sailing is slow racing and it took 24 hours :-) I would realy like to see something like that for powerboats and I am dreaming of fitting a rig to the motion :-) catamarans are great sailers ! would rise some eyebrows with me laying there between the sailboats after the race with the 2x2.5s hanging on the back ready to make the best sound there is. Sailboats dont scream thats the worst part:D
24 hours screaming doing 6mph.......no maybe not :D

Hi!
The rest of the video is in my computer;)
Its not possible to post any bigger videos I am sorry ..
There was someone that showed a place on the internet to store videos for download, or maybe we should have to raise some money for a new big server to greg to share the videos I we have? nice for trubble shooting :D our experts can go for a ride in the video and hear the engine running !

:) I have found out that all the V ery I mortant P ersons always run inboards.....
Haven't they relised anything? If you are going to have the best boat, why stick with anythin alse than outboards???
I know of a guy who have bought a 1993 Fountain 35 Lightning with 2x470. The boat is fine looking. He says it runs 82 mph. My great 21" V-bottom runs 85 mph..... I am VERY keen to put him in the right place next year. ;)
They don't like to be outrun you know...
I also "raced" with a Donzi with a pair of 225 Optimaxes and simultaneousley a Scarab 30" with 2x200 EFI. @5500 rpm. I followed them a long distance to let they think they just passed me. But when I put the pedal to the metal they didn't undersand anything! I felt the accelleration was like being passed by a Yamaha R1 bike on the highway.... and went to 7000 rpm. in few seconds. You should have seen their faces afrewards!!!
OUTBOARDS RULES! THAT IS THE RULE!

I was on the St.Croix some years ago ('91 or '92) with my V-King/2.4. I pulled up on a guy with a Profile 27 and a single I/O. We both laid it down and that guy opened a extra large can of WHOOP ASS on me. Then he made me eat it w/no fork or kechup. After the beating we went back to the bay to BS. I asked what he was running, and he cranked his out drive up to show me. I was shocked, it was the 13th factory experimental Blackhawk drive made (they hadn't released them yet). He had a connection at Mercury, and he had the boat specifically built for the drive. He also was running a 585" big block that was nasty as hell. He claimed the boat to run 92 or 96, and I believe it. As I recall, he said the drive cost him around 13 grand, even back then. I'll never forget that boat, It was almost as bad as getting driven around by Marv (Jorganson) in one of his Allys.

Brad!
What do you say that next year, 4th of July week, I bring my stuff to Minocqua from Three Lakes and a few friends too! We could have a blast! Maybe Bill, Albee, Kirk, Blaa, Blaa could all join in and shake the Bosaki Brunch Bunch up a bit. I talked to your Bro-in-law about Nickfest 2002 when he first got his new toy, but the weather kept him at home. Maybe we come over in force to BroFest in July and in September, you guys come over for Nickfest.
I gotta pack for Jasper. Leaving tomorrow.
Later
Nick Kaye:D
