THIS IS NOT A OXYMORON. HOW DO I WAKE UP MY OMC 175 INTRUDER? RUNS COOL, QUIET, SMOOTH, IT HAS EVERYTHING THE NORMAL GUY WANTS IN A PHISHIN BOAT, BUT, MAYBE I AM NOT NORMAL. THIS 97 EVINRUDE HAS A NEW BLOCK WITH ONLY 30 HOURS FROM THE FACTORY. PURELY STOCK. NO MODS AT ALL. WHERE SO I START???????????
IT TURNS 5400 RPM , ON A 19 FOOT RANGER, PLENTY OF LIFT, HYD JACK PLATE
AND STEERING, GPS AT 63 LOADED WITH
2 PERSONS AND ALL GEAR. CAN IT MAKE 200 HP? CAN IT RUN 70 MPH. RUNS A 3 BLADE 24 PROP.

Yes it can make 200 hp, there are some easy mods and not so easy ( porting)My 150 faststrike (on my bass Boat) is turning a 29" Prop,, mid to upper 6000s depending on load, I have even seen 7000 a few times with a very light load.

best way to improve speed is to make sure ya got it set up right. also the cheapest - start with a good prop preferably done by dah propelers - then work on motor height - steering - then go for the h.p. - ya can improve a lot just by set up - good luck on 70 mph:D

MOTOR SET UP IS NOT A PROBLEM. HYDRAULIC JACK PLATE IS INSTALLED. GOTTA BE CAREFUL ABOUT RAISING WHILE IN ROUTE, I CAN RUN OUT OF
WATER PRESSURE PRETTY QUICK. IT WILL BLOW OUT . THAT'S A RADICAL FEELING WHEN THAT HAPPENS. JUST DID THAT SATURDAY PM. NO CONTROL AT 60 MPH. I AM TURNING A 3 BLADE 24 RAKER
5400 RPM'S , GPS 61 MPH. THIS IS ON A 461 VS RANGER 19 FT. 1400 LBS. BEFORE I GO INTO THIS NEW BLOCK I THINK I WILL DO THE EXTERNAL STUFF FIRTS.

great set up - how much trim ya using and hows the rooster - sounds like yer runnen pretty good for whats ya got - johnny & jeff at DAH 262-534-4440 can do alot with that prop - just read hot boat or b&w boat and youll see there no b.s. - just ta let ya know i run a ranger 375v with a 225 johnny , 27 shooter - manuel jack + a hyd jack on the back of that - 1425 lbs hull - got some steering issues to deal with . running about 73 mph - just got yhe 225 and havnt got to tune it in yet - so i know were your coming from - like i say get them the best ya can then work on H.P. / H.P. per mph gets very costly - talk ta ya lator - k-man

IS ONLY AS HIGH AS THE TOP OF THE COWLING/ MAYBE I SHOULD MAKE AND INSTALL LONGER TRIM CYLINDER
BUMPERS? THIS WOULD GIVE ME HIGHER TRIM BUT LESS TUCK. WATER PSI AT MAX TRIM AT 61 MPH IS 23 PSI.

the boys at DAH are on my best freind list - talk to jeff just about every day - sorry if i push em so much - but there so busy for a reason - not trying to sell em - just wanna get ya boys runnen right - aircraft - how much does that boat weigh - sure look nice :D
