Has anybody ever tried one of these? Seems like it would blow out easier with the step in front of the prop.
Just curious, seems like a good idea for someone thats not going too fast and wants to have a low water pickup........

Ron Pratt aka Alaska Streaming has used them and claims they are great. Do a search for porta and it may come up.

Hi Fast Fred -

Just wondering what rig you have. I race in the UK with a 24' custom race RIB powered by a Merc XR2 200 hp, and get around 70 mph with it, and was wondering if a bob's cone would help us. We run a sportmaster although I have a CLE which is what I would put the cone on, and they are both 2:1 boxes.

Would appreciate your comments,

yes yes, bob's big foot will help, you'll get 3 or 4mph just for putin it on, I'm an importer, builder, custom mota builder, Inflatable boats only! I'm allways crusing in some thing cool, not allways a racer, I have a 22' 500lb Falcon 700 superlight rib, I,m not done w/ the 300HP Yamaha yet , she will get to a 100mph+, I like my 13' rubber skater , she got the Yamaha 70ces all tricked out, I'll get some pics up hear to day:cool: Oh ya, the rubber skater picked up 5mph just putin on the cone:cool:

Fast Fred -

Are you getting the extra speed because you can lift the engine height or because of the shape on the box?

Are you in South Africa or are you bringing Falcons into the States or elsewhere?

If I find the thread I will. Been on vacation since the 5th and won't be back till the 19th. Computer time is difficult. BTW they are good up to 100 mph. Thanks for the PM!! Ron

100 MPH !!
Thats quite a bit higher than I was thinking they'd be good for.
Thanks Dave, maybe Ron will get on S&F soon and give some more details on the pros and cons.
