pssssssst . . . .
heard a couple of interesting tidbits concerning Plymouth -
first, if you intend to fly in - try a flight to Greenville, NC - don't go to Norfolk - alot of road construction and you can get REAL confused and turned around (have to always remember racers only know how to go straight - turn left)
second, the word is being spread and enthusiasm is high in Plymouth - 15 full color billboards are being set up.
third, four radio stations are already talking up the races - two college age stations and two country western stations have been airing ads - The event was also the topic on one of the local talk shows.
fourth, word is that Reggie Fountain will be there with two of his offshore boats on display at the boat show - don't forget to wax those babies up nice and pretty - we will show Mr. Fountain and Plymouth our best!!
lastly - rumor has it that there will be some East Coast teams coming to compete - word is teams from Maine, Vermont and New Hampshire are trying to make the race -
Oh, and before I forget - the promoters are expecting an above capacity spectator crowd - over 5,000 - They are now working on contingency plans just in case more show up!!
See ya in Mt. Vernon!
