I have a 3.0 Optimax with 1 bad hole. Lower unit has broken skeg but I can provide a different case. Will sell in one piece or part out. Extra crank and heads available. No cowling. Let me know if there is anything you can use.

Sorry, it's a 200.

I should clarify the block is a 200 but most all the other parts are from a 225. I took a damaged 200 and replaced the block with a 225 rotating assembly. I imagine most all the parts interchange except maybe heads and ecu. While they will definitely fit they may be different.

The Mercury OptiMax 3.0 is a V6, 3.0-liter displacement outboard engine producing around 175 to 200 hp, depending on configuration. It features advanced technology with a two-stroke direct fuel injection system, spark-ignited diesel option (in some variants), and digital ignition for efficient combustion and good fuel economy. It has a 25-inch shaft length and a SmartCraft Engine Guardian system for diagnostics and protection. The 3.0L OptiMax is known for smooth running, torque delivery, and relatively light weight for its power class. Regarding the condition mentioned: having one bad hole (likely referring to cylinder or crankcase damage) and a broken lower unit skeg means the engine needs repair or part replacements. Selling it whole or parting out is reasonable, especially if extra crank and heads are available, but note the missing cowling. Providing a different case could help with the lower unit issue. This engine suits buyers looking for good power in a relatively compact 3.0L V6 outboard with advanced fuel injection technology but requiring some repair work or spare parts.
