545111I had two lower units to go through this was the first one I took off a 135 2.0 that had been very hot but all ready got it back together and stared on lower unit the water pump had a big gap in top side before I took it on down never see this before but no grove on drive shaft well got it all back together replaced reverse gear bearing new seals got it all back together and I was turning the drive shaft shifting it into forward and reverse just happen to look up and the top of driveshaft was making a big circle as I turned it cant believe the drive shaft was bent from a hard hit from below was bent that bad but took it back down and replaced it all the bend was top side of the bearing and no damage below

I am thinking when you took the hard hit you twisted the driveshaft just a little.

I can't imagine bending a driveshaft in use. Maybe it was bent when unit was off somehow?
