Did you try the "compatibility" mode:
https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/make-older-apps-or-programs-compatible-with-the-latest-version-of-windows-783d6dd7-b439-bdb0-0490-54eea0f45938

The trick to it is you MUST MUST MUST MUST have a 32 bit windows installed AND 32 bit excel. If either is 64 bit the excel macros or whatever will not run. I had it all working on my old work computer, then I got upgraded to a new computer and nothing worked again. Even had the IT guys trying to get it to work with 64 bit windows, we deleted 64 bit office, reinstalled 32 bit office and still would not work with the 64 bit windows.

My solution was a $115.00 POS 32 bit laptop! Works like a charm again.

How much $ is the software? Can I convert a 200 box to a 225 promax or 260? Ive got a 15 year old 200 box I’ve never used.

Will not work on 64 bit LOL. Brucato needs to update that and I'm sure it is not that hard for them to do...they would just have to send us all new software which they probably won't...

Yes you can re-write or re-download any fuel map into any acu.

I do automotive software/calibration engineering for a living and this is comical.

I was talking with few friends just last night about this stuff, I said if they could get the software I would help them tune their EFI setups, Then I log in today and see this thread started... Guess that's out the window.. :nonod:

Win11 is supposed to be able to run them properly.

In certain cases, even after successfully installing a 32-bit application, you may experience issues with compatibility. Windows 11 offers a feature called Compatibility Mode, which can help solve these problems.

I ran into the same issue.. So I bought an old refurbished windows 7 laptop off of Ebay for a couple hundred bucks that already had the correct Excel program installed.. Works like a charm. Guess now I have a dedicated tuning laptop.

I have it working on windows 11 well I will say.. it loads the acu in to excel and then loads the new tune to the acu atleast it says.. but when I exit out and reload to check it's proper tune it still shows previous tune in the acu.. even after I load new and click verify it shows it's correct ..but it's not .. 32 bit excel but is 64 bit gaming laptop..

When u open excel it doesn't show this file in compatability mode .. excel does this automatically.. it will.say file name at top then compatibility mode beside it and it does not so excel showing it's working on windows 11 .. it does everything except send file properly to acu

Can also take a 64 bit windows to run windows 32 bit .. go to.search bar on start menu type in turn windows features on or off.. when it loads click the box says internet information services click ok.. after that loads go back to search bar and type in I telnet information services..open that up .. on the left were says desktop click the drop down tab.. open the application pools.. then right click it on the right in the window.. go to advanced settings.. and we're says enable 32bit false click drop down change to true click OK and restart..

"To force compatibility in Excel, you can save your workbook in an older format, such as Excel 97-2003 Workbook (*.xls), by going to File > Export > Change File Type. Additionally, you can run the Compatibility Checker to identify any features that may not be supported in earlier versions."

I have to load the correct curve a few times for it all to take sometimes. Sometimes I have to do it even more! It will take the curve, then sometimes not change the name, or not the RPM limit, or not the banks enrichment. or just crash and take nothing!

I pull the current curve from the Brucato - then adjust the curve, RPM, name - then send it to the Brucato. Once it says it is done, I send it again to the Brucato, sometimes I have to cut power to the Brucato and turn it back on and send again. I then open up a new sheet, pull the curve and visually check the name and RPM. If that looks good, I confirm data and most times the data is confirmed by the Brucato. If not, I restart the process. Make sure the Brucato doesn't freeze as that happens a lot also. This is old tech so if you get it working I suggest only using that computer for the Brucato!

Edit, and calling Brucato is a waste if you are having this issue. I walked her though this and the 32 Bit stuff and she never hear it before. So either they don't want to help as its time consuming, or don't understand the constraints, or don't care.

-Saving as .xlsm or .xlsb: If you save the workbook in these formats, the macros will remain intact.

* To remove macros from an Excel workbook, save it as an .xlsx file.
* If you want to keep the macros, use .xlsm or .xlsb formats.

If you're willing to uninstall the 64-bit version of Excel... apparently you can then install the 32-bit version on your 64-bit machine: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/answers/questions/5245506/i-want-to-change-from-excel-64-bit-to-excel-32-bit
