As always, I went to the Toronto boat show. There is very little performance stuff anymore. Lots of wakeboard/surf boats, which seem to get bigger and more powerful every year. There are not a lot of them on the water near us, and we have waves from wind and cabin cruisers anyway. Wakeboard boats are technically interesting, but of course I would never want one.

I did see "plumb bow" boats from Frauscher and Axopar. What are these boats like in rough water? Smoother ride? Easier to stuff?

The antique boats are always good for me. There was an old Hunter wooden boat that was made across the lake from me. A small antique boat had a hand crank 2 cylinder engine. I can imagine breaking a wrist starting it. There was a Chrysler stacker that might be of more interest here. What were the springs for on the exhaust stacks?

I saw the new Mercury 200R. Heavy and expensive compared to already owning a 200XS, but I have read of 90 mph on a 21 Allison which is very fast for that power.

The Argo was on display, which was very cool. It had an MCR modified 332 HP Yamaha motor. I spoke with the MCR guys. They are designing/making/having parts built. Cool.

I forgot to add the Sharrow propellers. There are two additions from the last time I looked. There is a dual prop for the Bravo 3, and an aluminum prop for 40-200 HP

Base stainless prop $4995
Aluminum prop $1995
