Buying a boat off ebay if I can get it shipped without costing an arm and leg.
What is the best way to ship an 1800 lb boat?
I was thinking flying out there renting a truck and towing it back. Hotel, car, mileage and all would be around 1k dollars.
Is there a better way?
Thank you
Jennifer
Maybe if anyone is heading this way, I would pay them to tow it here!!

It would be pretty hard to get it done cheaper than 1k. I had mine shipped from NY to WA state for a little less than 2k and that was my best quote, most were around 3k and I even had some up to 5k  , plus my boat got pretty trashed during the haul (but it was during November). Good luck, and congratulations on the new boat, whatever it is ;)

John, it is a 22 ft rapid craft.
David messed up selling my Cougar. The STV is too little for Cameron and I. This guy said he would end the auction for 12,500 (his reserve price)
It needs to be sanded and cleared and there was a repair to the hull, but it is a nice looking boat and a little bigger then the cougar. I wanted another Cougar, (David wants a Euro) but this should be fine.
He shouldnt have sold my boat.. I will make him pay!! <wink, and I do accept credit cards>

Check with some of the truck sites, like http://www.turbodieselregister.com for instance. They have members with trucks that drive all over the place. I had a guy that was willing to bring a trailer from FL to NV, then the trailer with a boat back to FL for $400.

It wants me to subscribe to a magazine to post on that forum :(
Can you post the request Keith?
It would be pulling from Phoenix Arizona to Raleigh NC and the dates are flexible. I will check online and see if there are other sites I can post at. Good idea!

Jenn,
I will definately see ya'll comming in that!
Plenty of seats and cupholders...cool!
I think I will like MY seat in that boat the best... the one with the steering wheel in front of it:D

Yeah, you need to make a GPS pass so we can see just how fast it does run. David said you need to do a wheelie in it also so we can take a few pictures.

That boat is cool but I hope you guys don't expect that what the auction says hold any truth what so ever. That dude is flat out delusional or a big fat freaking liar. If it does do what he says please call me I'd like to make you an offer on the boat.

It will likely only do about 70 with one motor.

That would be pretty respectable too for a boat that size.
