Guys
Whats the story with lifting strakes that meet at the keel at the bow versus ones that run parallel and hence go up at the bow to meet the chine?

What the result of either re turning?

I have noticed the strake configuration on boats over the years. Not sure if the designers have a specific criteria for this. The Bertram race boats of the 70's had parallel strakes while almost all others used the converging design. Many of the Bertram fishing boats had Ray Hunt's influence which was parallel strakes. Some of the faster RC model V hull race boats use the converging design because the boats turn so fast that it is important that the front part of the hull does not try to suck down in the water. Fountain and Allison could probably give the best insight about this.

Converging help recover deep bow entries in rough water. I like the ascetics of converging as well (its what I am used to being around Skaters and Doug Wrights).
