7-10 big skaters sighted

Went out fishing today in Miami and on our way in from the ocean through Govenor's Cut looked liked 7-10 HellKats or Doug Wrights with big Mercs headed out . Was a tremendous sight they were magnificent. They were in Biscayne Bay looked to be heading out the sound the sight. Was it anybody on here? Rick

One that stood out was lime green anybody know what was going on I have not seen so many cats in one place they just kept coming it was a cool sighting.

I'm no expert I called them skaters but they were cats looked more like a neighbor I had in Boca Raton he had a Doug Wright he raced but not canopied' It was good to see something other than a center console fish boat or a wake boat. The drivers were respectful to the other boater ran in a line on one side of the bay. These were absolutely awesome.

I looked at Skater's web site and there are no V bottoms today. But I bet if you went with a big check they would still build one. I wonder how long the order book is at Skater. Order now, deliver in 202?

There are not many Skater Vees but there are a hand full. We ran around with these guys during shootout week this past summer. Skater built several race boats for Fountain over the years, he built a 46 for Cigarette that was a Kilo specific rig, he built the first step bottomed 46 for Cigarette, and he offered his 402 (skater brand Vee) for a while. There was a controversy between Skater and Outerlimits when OL came out with their 39'. The hull design was radically different from any of their other in house stuff and radically close to Skaters design.

Joe
