Curious if anyone will be at the Hardy Dam in Michigan. I haven't been there in 2 years but last time I was there it seemed to be a real hot spot for performance boats. I got alot of races with my checkmate and now I'll be back with my cat. Anyone been there on the 4th? Just wondering how packed I should expect it to be.

There will be a lot of Hot stuff there, even though some of the regulars are takin a short vacation elsewhere. You should have a lot of fun w/ all different types of perf boats.
I'll be there w/River Rocket, but only a little bitty 2.0litre on the back this week. I have a seasonal at Big Bend, if you see me, intorduce yourself.
Have fun...Be safe

How are the cops on Hardy Dam? It does have a speed limit right? This will be the first outing of the year so I'll be taking it easy, but it'd be nice to know incase I deceide to open her up. What can I expect as far as crowd also? I will be staying at Sandy Beach which is close to the first couple of coves.

They are usually cool, but they can't let you go wild in front of them, they'd have to do something. They will be out this weekend, but they usually ain't pricks. If the weather's decent, there'll be huge boat crowds, and yes, you will be near the dam, and very close to Consumers Beach. Ken M from the S & F board stays at Sandy Beach, you'll probably see his Yellow/white STV R.R.
Cowds are kinda relative to the area, one nice thing about Hardy is that there are very few cottages, because Consumers Power and the State own most of the shoreline, and won't sell. so only the people at the parks, and those that can squeeze into the boat Launches are able to be on the river, plus it's about 17 miles long, so there's plenty of water.
