Mercruiser Alpha internals

What will late model Alpha Mercruiser internals fit, Anything else besides an Alpha lower? I have two complete Alpha lower unit internals and was wondering if they will fit any Mercury outboard lower units.

3.0L fishing lower units. Some of them, not all. Not 3.0L high performance though, cause the front bearing is a different size.

Curious about this. Could you switch the front bearing to whichever bearing is for the case you are using? What about the older Alpha's? Do the older Alpha internals fit in the 2.4-2.5 lowers from the same timespan?
