Can I use fishin moter parts in this block ?

Just won the bid for a 2.4 V-6 merc block on ebay the person I'm getting it from said it's a 200hp XR-6 ser#OD284788 part#9763 with all good bores "I HOPE"
I have stock 5 petal reeds and wh-46 carbs and the water cooled 40 amp reg.

Aren't the XR-6 motors 150's?

Mike's right. The XR6 is a 2.5L 150 fishing motor. The SN indicates a '91 model.

Just went on merc site this morning checked the ser.# came back as a 2.5 mariner magnum efi hope this block is at least in good shape might need a carb style front half for it. that's why I only went up to $202.50 for it the guy is in lakeland fla the shipping was only 42.50 extra. lately my luck has not been too good. Nice trusting guy's come in last. but I refuse to be a prick.
