Does anyone have any insight modifications that can be done to these engines other than a prop? Like carbs, exhaust, ignition block porting etc.)

No one races those engines in T boat racing. Everyone runs the OMCs. Sorry, but an engine swap might be simpler. Have you optimized your set up? That should come first.
