Howdy Yall, I am looking for advice on some issues I am having with my 92' Yamaha ProV 200. The boat is a 92' Malibu Flightcraft Barefooter originally from California, and now resides at 6500-7000ft elevation in SW Wyoming. I am looking for some guidance on how to adjust the jets for higher elevation, and any other tips and tricks yall might have for operating at elevation. I am also having a oil consumption issue. This old girl CHUGS oil faster than any boat I have ever driven. Thank you for your time!532506532507532508

Does it run alright? How does the spark plugs look like?

Being higher in the elevation would mean you'd need to jet it leaner.

However if the engine runs just fine I wouldn't personally make any adjustments at all because if the boat/engine would ever be ran again at lower elevation level you would absolutely need to jet it back richer before using the engine at all, because running lean is much worse than running rich on these old 2 strokes.

And what I said in the beginning is also relevant to the oil consumption, if it runs fine and the plugs don't gunk up full of carbon I recommend not to touch the autolube system. Big potential to seize the engine when trying to tinker the engine to be ran with as low oil as possible.

But if really want to try adjusting the oil consumption there is a lever on the port side of the engine that moves with the throttle control linkage. The oil lever has threads and nuts where you can adjust how much the lever is pushed in. More it is pushed in the more oil you are gonna get.
Or at least I think you have it like that... assuming the system is similiar to my 1989 225.

I've seen the oil pump link rod come off at the oil pump. This will cause the oil pump to go to max flow.

Be careful playing with carb main jets with today's gas. No matter what you do a carb engine will lose power at high elevation.
