before I drill a hole I figured it best to ask where you all think the fuel vent should go?

I would put it in the front if the splashwell... but my HST doesn't have a splash well so the tank vent pukes down the side of the boat instead. :nonod:

That’s where my Valero had its vent. Right near the top of the splashwell on the drivers side. Filler on the passenger side. Why I asked is my buddies Vking it’s on the side of the hull which doesn’t look as clean as in the splashwell but there’s no chance water is going to wash dow it either. For aesthetics I want to mount it in the splashwell though. I couldn’t make the call without asking here first

Pre-mix down the side if the boat... :nonod:

Get a new filler neck with the vent incorporated. The fuel overflow is inside the neck. Not down the side of the boat. They work great and why waste fuel

That would be the ticket if I hadn’t already drilled and mounted the filler lol!! Argh
I’ll check out the measurements and whatnot of that filler and any others like it. If I can’t make it work I’m thinking the top of the splashwell is the spot for it. I can’t say I ever had fuel sloshing out of my other boats vent though. Hmmm that is a concern if it’s happening to some of you i can’t in good conscience run it on the outside of the wings and have fuel with aces and oil trash up my fresh paint. I’ll risk the splashwell water concern for that

It will fit through a standard fill hole. Maybe just a little sanding. I used one like it on my checkmate.

Yeah, I think a lot of people that haven't driven an HST or Euro underestimate how many G's they can generate and where everything goes during those turns!!

I won’t be pulling any high g cornering attempts in this thing so I don’t have to worry about that. I’m mostly gonna cruise this thing just to get out and break it in. Figured I’d have the layup done in a few months and another couple three to paint and rig. Four years later :leaving:

I did not like it spitting fuel all over so I ran a hose up through the rigging and ran it up and did a loop under the cowl. no way fuel will make its way that far up vertically and fumes can be right with all the other fuel and oil is under the cowl! I only had issues when topping it completely off for long runs. Keep it a few gallons away from full and it dont spit that much.
