Recently rebuilt a 2.4L Chrome bore 175HP powerhead. Interested in people's views on suitable break-in period. Currently have run about 36 gallons of fuel through it. Chrome cylinders were fine, rebuild consisted of cast pistons, rings, connecting rod bearings (upper and and lower) and connecting rod bolts. I appreciate any insight from the knowledgable folks on this site.

In the past I’ve run a couple tanks of fuel with extra oil and that was about it. If your running cast pistons you’re probably ok now. If you have forged pistons your going to want to run more heat cycles on it before leaning on it and be sure each time you start it you warm it up well before leaning into it.
