I need some help on this one. On my Mercury 260 with a Mercruiser trim pump it won't tilt under power. Works fine with no load. Since the pump is wired directly to the battery thru a solenoid I am thinking the pump motor might be too weak to spin the pump motor. This is the first time I have had this boat on the water since installing a new trim pump. If the hydraulic lines were in the wrong order could this be the problem. Any help is greatly appreciated.
Thanks a bunch, Carter Powell

Yes trim up/out is a higher pressure. Make sure the blue lead on pump motor is your up.

On some pumps the hydraulic ports have a marking just above adapter fitting.

Is the bottom hydraulic port on the single ram unit the UP port.
thanks so much, Carter

you should be able to energize the pump [blue] up wire and see which line jumps to check if you have the right line connected!

I was just wondering if the bottom port on the single ram is the line port that raises the motor.
thanks, Carter

Yes, bottom port is UP on cylinder.
Your going to have to shim or install a heavier spring for the up circuit bypass.

Thanks Jim, I was pretty sure but at 76 my mind gets a bit foggy at times, thanks again. Carter
