I keep blowing voltage regulators out of my OEM alternators. Theya re the same one called for from GM (NAPA replacements) and its the same ones I used on my old motor. Only difference is my new motor, a 350 H.O. cranks higher RPMs once it starts to get wound out (passing gear, etc.) The voltage regulator is built into the alternator. Anyone have any idea what the heck is going on with my charging system?

Hey Tom.

I just noticed your thread here.

Give EGR a call; 1-800-325-8695
They're in South Dalton, Ohio.
I had them build a custom alternator for my drag car.
They built it for little money too!

They were really cool and will answer questions like that.

Here's a link to their site...
