Hey guys this will be my first post here just wanted to share a bit of the build, I picked up this 1987 scorpion 21 about 2 years ago with big inspiration from what the guys at Tuff Marine have been doing and wanted to see if it was possible to make one of the older hulls run with some of the new style V bottom boats,
It needed a full re core with transom and stringers i used balsa on the hull and foam core in other areas coosa transom goal was to make it strong and light!
Lots of carbon work went into the boat, full carbon floor seat mounts race hatch and a rear hatch! The boat was nice and light after all the work was done total weight of 996lbs with floor gas tank oil tank and battery mount in the hull.
I picked up a low hour 2014 300XS Mercury for its currently stock with a torquemaster lower unit i coned, I am beyond happy with how the boat has been preforming i only have about 12hrs on it so far first time in the water i had a bravo 32P and my friend was able to hit 88mph with ease! as i still had some learning behind the wheel to do,
The more seat time in the boat the bravo would get up to 97mph on the limiter and the season was coming to an end here in Ontario i headed back out with a buddy with a CNC31p and a borrowed prop from the guys at tuff and i was able to get 102mph at 6200rpm after all the hard work it paid off and just wanted to share some of the build with everyone.
