So for years I've been taking my chances on my stock 2.0/150 with no water pressure or temperature gauges. Just living off watching the tell tale and periodically testing the overheat buzzer.
That powerhead has been replaced by a 2.4/200 and I'm finally motivated to hook up the water pressure and (port side) temperature sensor for the dash gauge...
1) the temp sensor (not the one for the overheat buzzer), is in the port side head
2) the fitting on top of the block for the water pressure tubing favors the port side of the block
So is that how Mercury wanted t and how most of you route your temp wires and pressure tubing, down the port side of the powerhead and out the clamshell opening and out alongside the shift cable and the fuel feed?
At first blush, I worry that the tube and wire might interfere or get damaged by the linkages on that port side.
How do you guys do it?
