Hi all. I am working on removing my oiler system from my '95 200 Xri...the thing leaks like a sieve every time i tilt the engine. I think I have it figured out, but most of the old image posts are gone so hoping to confirm some things. I have the oil pump block-off with rod to fill the hole. But most of the images of fuel/oil lines I have found online are different than my motor. They often describe a T in the fuel line. However, my oil pump goes directly into a box that also has fuel lines going into it. See images below. But, I am assuming i can simply remove the oil line from the box and plug the connection point? Any recommendations for plugging the inlet?

Also, I was not planning on removing the timing advancement system at this time....but I have seen some people say to do it with this mod. My question is is it necessary? I was only p,lanning to dissable the oil sensing alarms, and leave the detonation sensor and everything else alone. Is this an okay plan? also, I have more sensors than I thought I would in the engine, can anybody tell me what they are?\

Thank you!

T in the fuel line is referring to the carb motors. You have efi and the oil line from the oil pump goes into the vapor tank. Yes you can plug off that check valve or unscrew it from the vst and put a pipe plug in it.

Is there something the timing advance module does for you that you enjoy the benefits from? If so, keep it I guess. Otherwise it seems like it might be yet one more thing to add to your diagnosis problem if you have problems down the road.

Also, (for the EFI historians) what function does the advance module serve that could not be handled by ECM?

Pre-2002ish, the ecu has no other function, other than fuel delivery. The black boxes came in a couple different variants. They function as, idle stabilizer, oil alarms, knock sensor, and high rpm timing advance, depending on what unit you have.
These boxes are not necessarily, pre 2000.
