So my project boat came with a CMC PL-65 hydraulic jack plate, but the slots are all smashed out up top, with the aluminum distorted where the upper rollers go. I looked into buying just the rails and it's almost $300 for new rails, and I'd have to also replace the bushings, washers, etc.

So then I had the idea.... can I just buy a non-powered jackplate, and swap the hydraulic pump/shock onto the manual one, and basically have a brand new jackplate? Anyone done this?

One company makes a manual that can be upgraded to hydraulic with their components. Not sure about just anyone being upgraded, I mean anything is possible just depends on your machining capabilities.

manuals are unbolted, cranked up or down and bolted back down. hyd has the rollers, etc. i don't think it is doable. another hyd setup off ebay with bad motor or cyl might be more doable.

???

Manual version:520998

Hydraulic: 520997

Looks real similar..... I think just the center would swap right over.
