Out of curiosity more than anything,

What is involved in converting an efi/opti from 3L to 3.2? Is there substantial machine work to to a 3L block to accept the 3.2 crank? Guessing you must also utilise the 3.2 rods as well, can you use the standard 3L pistons? I read when utilising the 3.2 crank the piston crown sits proud of the block, so need do the heads need to be machined as well?

would like to take one on as a project one day just want to be aware of what is involved.

For the EFI set up you will have to recess the head squish band .100". You will gain some compression pending what set of heads you use. All the rods are the same. I'm doing one now, but converting to 2.5 electrics also.

Just making sure I have this right, all the 3L rods are the same? Just the crank that’s different? Is there much machine work to get the 3.2L crank to work in a 3L efi block?

Rods are all the same. You can just do the heads and it will work fine.

Might can do it wiff a harbor fright grinder and sandin pad .. results may vary ... :eek:

Hardest part of doin the job is payin for the crank. Seems that the porkchops was made to look like ... well, porkchops @ the Key West World Championships. :p
The price of 300xs parts doubled over night. Talk about sore losers ... :rolleyes:

Actually comes out to 3180 cc . Gotta halfta bore it .015 over to actually arrive @ 3200 cc .
