most of us use a hole saw in the lower pan that way it is easy can use plastic plug or metal plug at least what i did years ago jim45157

Do you have the flexible hose on your compression gage, you can just bend it around?? My gage has a rubber hose that quick disconnects, just thread it in.

It does. Its smaller than it looks. Thats what mercury made it for. I have 3. I used one yesterday on a 1976 1500 I-6. It had good compression on all 6!

BINGO!! That's what I was looking for! Used to have one with the old Mercury logo on it. As soon as I buy this one it will reappear.

I can hear a weak cly.......back in 1981....jetted down to save $$$$.......just don't load the motor........also ran 27 +.......leadtime.....1981.....V6s were out and they were giving L6s away.... so I built them to the limit..... if they blew.....who cared........:p.....18 foot Jetmate.....
