I have a 2012 South Bay 922 Sport with a I4 200 Verado. When I turn the key the screen is black and says booting in the upper left-hand corner, after a few seconds the booting word goes away, then "booting comes back and it just stays that way. Everything on the boat seems to function fine but I have no fuel gauge and I can't control the interior lights among many other things without it booting up. I've disconnected the batteries, took the dash apart unplugged the screen completely, I found a sim card in an adapter in the screen, pulled that, put it back in nothing helps. ANY IDEAS???

I'm considering replacing it with a Simrad but have NO IDEA what to buy or how to get the boat sensors to work with it.

Current screen is a 7" HV700, 5 button #78350370 upc 50000009742

I am not familiar with those particular screens, but my first opinion would be to try and find out if you can update that unit. Anytime I have an issue with a fish finder or screen of some sort I always start with a software update.

If you want to change to a Simrad it's definitely possible, but youd have to change all the digital switching stuff out as well.

It's also possible that screen is actually made by Simrad. There's only a few true manufacturers of screens, lots are just rebranded, or made for them by other companies
