View Full Version : 2002 mercury outboard 225 efi missing parts
I bought a 2002 mercury 225 EFI, non running, its missing something on the starboard side. one open 8 pin plug, one fuel pressure sensor plug into nothing. a fuel line coming over the back of the intake coming from the top of the Vapor Separator, and it look like some thing should be in the hole in the front shourd next to the intake. so what is missing?

The 3 wire pressure sensor in first pic is probably a pitot sensor for smartcraft speed: it is not needed.
Plug in 2nd pic is for a smartcraft "boat harness" that would include things like fuel level sensor, oil tank sensor, paddle wheel etc. Also not needed. Cap it.
3rd pic of hose looks like the VST vent. Its ok where it is. It should plug into the air cover that goes over the flywheel and throttle body.
wow, thanks, one last thing, what going into the front cover under the intake in the fouth pic? on diagrams all it show is a screw that go in from the front . I've only worked 2.5 mercurys.

Yeah a screw goes in there to hold it down. metric typically. Not sure what size. All I know is its a flange head bolt that a 8mm socket takes out and its smaller than a m6
so nothing goes into the odd circle hole? I assume the oval hole is the intaking air in the front cover.
