3.0 idle relief

I have to get my 3.0 to run but thinking ahead on the next project, I don’t like the washout port / idle relief boot built into the engine plate…I was thinking of plugging them off and drilling out some idle reliefs on the mid section, similar to the older black maxs, can the exhaust flow that way through the plate?,,,with some modification of course

This mod is kinda pointless but i kinda like the engine to be a little louder and don't really like that boot attached to the cowl...I looked at it more, seems like I can drill out a slot in the middle, very top of the mid section housing, weld a plate to cover the boot hole on the exhaust plate...then relocate the pee hose and plug the flush out port on the block itself,,,again this will be for a future project on another "spare" engine
