I have a 175hp 2.5L xri and just noticed the enricher wire under the cowling dangling loose.

It looks like it was connected to this metal piece together with some black/yellow wire, which is the ignition kill circuit. It looks like the copper broke and the wire came loose.

Why would the enricher system be connected to the ignition kill circuit? Since the xri / efi doesnt have a choke circuit, why is the wire even there.

Or doesnt it matter, when i push the key, 12v will be present on this wire, and also on the ignition key circuit, so nothing happens? 518355

Kinda hard to tell for sure. My guess is it was just loose and the splice had 3 wires. The two from the switch boxes join.

The black/ yellow has voltage on it while running. Key puts it to ground in off position.

Its not used on efi versions... I think on the side of the splice with one wire your looking at the end of the single wire poking thru not a broken wire, like was said above splice is only 3 wires.
