Not sure if I’m doing it right but I have the dial gauge in the spark plug hole at 0 TDC I’ll spin counter clockwise past .526 then back to .526 on the dual gauge….the indicator pointer is like 2 inches away from the .526 stamp on the flywheel…what am I doing wrong
i have adjusted the CPS and TPS
i know the timing isn’t adjustable on this engine, i what to know how to check it

Its been a while since I set a pointer. That was on a 2.5. First thing that comes to mind is the scale of your dial gauge. I recall on a 2.5 .462 ? Mark it takes 4 full revolutions on dial plus the .062. Make sure you have the dial set with enough range to do enough revolutions.

Ah ok something simple yes I think I gotta turn it more, gonna look at it again tomorrow
First time doing timing so learning on this one will have a few others to do after this one

OK so I think my dial gauge wont work - I can only get two spins before it "bottoms out" Seems like I'll need a longer dial gauge, or atleast one with a longer barrel to get further inside the cylinder

Maybe I need to screw on an end tip adapter thing

This is the kit I've had forever. Shows how I leave it assembled for use.

quite a while since I've done one as well! back in the day we didn't have digital vernier's wouldn't that be easier than sourcing indicator adapters! seems to me with the hemi combustion chamber would be pretty accurate! wouldn't even think about it with angle plug head!
