smartcraft to lowrance

Electronically disabled member needs help hooking smartcraft to lowrance hds. motor is a 300xs and currently has no smartcraft but does have the hds. Need to know what all it is I need. Thanks.

If there is already a smartcraft junction box at the dash then all you need is:
NMEA gateway (p/n 8M0165589)
NMEA backbone
NMEA drop cable from lowrance to backbone.

If there is no junction box at the dash then he needs to install one. If the boat presently has a 14-pin key switch harness then the plug is already there...you just plug the junction box in and screw it down. If it has a 9-pin wiring harness then he needs to run a blue cable (p/n 879982T20 for 20ft) from the engine up to the junction box.
