Bobs machine missed an opportunity with the Merc exhaust snout

Is it just me, or is the Mercury exhaust snout that Bobs Machine is selling, very goofy and a little bit awkward, compared to an original offshore mid.
It is very short, not covering the entire length of the lower, also doesnt flow nicely into the sides of the mid (its to small).

So unfortunatly, because the OMC snout from bobs looks really nice.

I for me, i would have preferred it this way. Longer snout, little bit wider, open on the back, not the bottom. Mounting brackets on the sides (welders can cut them off and weld).

This way it would look a lot more like the original offshore mid.
I get it a little bit, with a longer snout you cant reach the bolt for the anode, but most of us throw these out anyway

Speaking of throwing out the anode, I dont recommend it at all. I have a motor here that the prev owner did the same thing and and tossed all of them and that motor is so crusty from top to bottom. My old pontoon motor thats literally had little to no service in the past 10 years still look pretty new and its a 30 year old motor and has all its anodes. Im a firm believer in them and will never toss them.
