Suwannee BBQ March 9 - 12 - 2023 .Time to plan for this March when our Northern brothers and sisters are ready to thaw out here in FL . We will be having a BBQ Friday and Saturday nights and playing on the River of course . There are some local motels that are pretty reasonable and if you need to park something or bring a motorhome or camper we have some room for a few units . BYOB .

Local hotels are as follows with the Days Inn in Chiefland with lots of boat parking and right next to BBQ Bills for breakfast . Best Western also in Chiefland just south of Holiday Inn . Then the Cadillac an old school mom and pop place with good parking just south of the bridge . Then the Park Inn right across from the Cadillac , another smaller mom and pop motel , then the Suwanee Gables just over the bridge across the river on the right on the water with a boat ramp .

Call them I have no idea , but I know Nick Scafidi brought his coach and tow vehicle and boat . There is also another campground right by the bridge . I will find out .

GORNTO looks good, 10 miles, perfect never been past the split, up the santa fe, wonder if its ok for powerboats, speed limits?

Sante fe is nice no speed limits just a little more narrow, u can take it to the itchnutuknee river (that’s spelled wrong) there is a short dirt road to get to the ramp at gornto fyi

Same side of the river as the fanning springs ramp . Head north from fanning springs and make a right on 349 , bring ya right to it , you can google rock sink Baptist church and just keep going past the church till ya hit the river

Not exactly sure but I’d say 4 or 5 miles , there’s like 3 no wake zones at the beginning for boat ramps etc. I think it takes longer to get thru those than it takes to get to the itchnetuknee

Fanning springs to the split is about 30 miles one way maybe a touch more
